Bench Vise 1 products

A bench vise clamps a workpiece to the bench so it stays put while you saw, file or drill. Jaw widths commonly run 3"–8". Bodies come in grey or ductile iron: ductile iron takes hammer blows without cracking. Look for a trapezoidal lead screw (more wear-resistant, higher clamping force), a swivel base if you work at angles, and replaceable soft jaws — aluminium and stainless will always show marks without them.
