Brick Trowel 1 products
A brick trowel picks up mortar, spreads the bed and taps bricks to line. Blades are usually forged carbon steel, commonly 250–300 mm long. It is the mason's hand tool: the rounded side closes joints, the point lifts mortar. Check that the blade has spring and returns true (a soft blade will not carry a bed of mortar), that the handle still grips with mortar on your hands, and whether the joint is forged or merely riveted.
